Drawing inspiration from the architectural concept of eco-brutalism, these images attempt to document the potential of urban concrete skeletons and their symbiotic relationship with nature. Whispers of the Future Past is an ongoing project that aims to contribute to the wider discussion of resource management within the ever-changing ecology of African urban cities, by using “naturally reclaimed” buildings as a forecast of the potential of abandoned and derelict buildings to provide an oasis within a concrete jungle.
