Biography

Malik Abdoulmoumine (b. 1997) is a multidisciplinary artist and painter living and working in New York. With a diverse upbringing in Italy, the United States, Ghana, and Liberia. 

Abdoulmoumine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from Lancaster University (Ghana) and recently completed a Master’s in Marketing from Syracuse University. As a self-taught designer, he has pursued extensive material study and works primarily in photography, drawing, and painting. His art invites viewers to reflect on their experiences within a world marked by shifting borders, challenges, and evolving ideas.    

In 2024, Abdoulmoumine was honored with the Light Work Grant in Photography. He also earned a filmmaking certification from Drama Queens Ghana in 2019. His work has been featured in group exhibitions at the Community Folk Art Center (January 2025), Light Work (May 2024), and Gold Host (2020). He has also collaborated on projects with Bard College, Limbo Accra, Tobi Onabolu, and The Public Art Fund alongside Clifford Prince King.
